Perishables

Perishable cargo is that type of cargo which will spoil if not handled quickly. Fresh fruits and vegetables, and fresh fish make up the majority of perishable shipments. Fresh fruit and vegetables require an appointment with the Department of Agriculture. Fresh fish is not regulated by Agriculture. These types of shipments are given top priority at William B. Skinner, Inc. We pride ourselves on getting these shipments handled the same day as arrival into the United States. For information concerning the importing of these types of commodities, you should visit the USDA and FDA websites to determine if the perishable commodity you are handling has any special requirements. If you have specific information about your products, you can send us an email. We will gladly check it out for you.
