Rectifying Bond delinquency due to incorrect address

The bond was rendered insufficient due to a bad address. Our mail was returned by the postal service as ‘undeliverable’.

The importer is responsible for ensuring their address on file with CBP is valid at all times.

We attempted to send correspondence to the importer's mailing address as provided on the bond at 354 E 91ST ST APT 1704, NEW YORK, NY 10128-0089.

In order to rectify the insufficiency the importer needs to do one of the options below:

1) If the importer verifies that the mailing address currently on file with CBP is correct, they should indicate what their current address is …… and certify that they receive mail at that location. This letter should be on company letterhead and signed by an officer of the company (president or vice-president). It should be faxed to 317-298-1042, or emailed to CBP.bondquestions@dhs.gov. Regardless of how it is submitted, this request should clearly indicate in the subject line "Bad Address / Bond Insufficient". Please ensure that the importer’s EIN or bond number is included.

2) If the mailing address currently on file with CBP is incorrect, the importer must file a properly executed CBP 5106 form (must include both mailing and physical address) and an Address Change bond rider (if the physical address is the same as mailing address). These documents should be faxed to 317-614-4517, or emailed to CBP.bondquestions@dhs.gov. Regardless of how it is submitted, the cover sheet should clearly indicate in the subject line "Bad Address / Bond Insufficient". Please ensure that the importer’s EIN or bond number is included.

The bond will be returned to sufficient status after the processing of the above paperwork has been completed. Please allow 5 business days from date of receipt for processing.

Any questions regarding this matter may be directed to 317-614-4880.

Thank You,

The Bond Team
